Ludia Consulting joins AED, deepening its commitment to heavy equipment distributors and manufacturers

At Ludia Consulting, our work has always been rooted in close, long-term relationships with the businesses we serve.

From regional heavy equipment suppliers to multi-location construction, agriculture, and material handling distributors, we spend our days alongside teams who keep equipment moving and customers productive.

That’s why we’re proud to share that Ludia Consulting has officially joined the Associated Equipment Distributors (AED).

This milestone reflects where our business is headed and reinforces our focus on supporting heavy equipment dealerships, distributors and manufacturers as they navigate a changing industry.

As Lucas Diaz, CEO of Ludia Consulting, shares:

“Joining AED reinforces our commitment to the industry. We’re excited to be part of a community that plays such a vital role in shaping the future of equipment distribution and manufacturing, and we look forward to strong partnerships and knowledge sharing with the AED community.”

AED brings together one of the most respected communities in the industry, representing more than 530 distributor members and 200 manufacturer members. For decades, AED has played a central role in strengthening the industry through education, advocacy, and leadership development. Becoming a member allows us to engage more directly with the conversations shaping the future of equipment manufacturing, distribution and dealerships.

The Heavy Equipment Industry is Modernizing – And Ludia is Here to Empower That

Across equipment, rental, and service businesses, priorities are shifting:

  • Finance teams need better visibility, across regions, assets, and working capital
  • Supply chain leaders want tighter control, fewer manual handoffs, and clearer forecasting
  • Service and rental operations are trying to move to subscription models, but are stuck with tools built for transactions
  • Sales and customer teams need unified insight, not scattered spreadsheets

We work every day with equipment organizations managing real-world challenges – modernizing ERP systems, connecting sales and service teams, improving parts availability, and gaining better visibility into customers, assets, and profitability. Our clients include independent dealers, family-owned multi-store operations, and national dealer groups representing major OEMs and specialty equipment suppliers.

Joining AED gives us a broader view into industry trends, peer experiences, and emerging priorities. This helps us ensure our recommendations remain practical, relevant, and grounded in how equipment businesses actually operate.

Bringing Practical Experience and Real Results to Heavy Equipment

As part of AED, we’re excited to contribute insights drawn directly from hands-on work with equipment dealerships, distributors and manufacturers. That includes lessons learned from helping dealers and suppliers:

  • Modernize sales, rental, and service operations without disrupting day-to-day business
  • Improve data visibility across parts, service, inventory, and finance
  • Align systems across complex, asset-heavy environments with multiple locations and OEM relationships
  • Enhance the customer experience for contractors, farmers, and fleet managers
  • Apply AI in practical, business-ready ways – using tools like Microsoft Copilot and Azure AI to improve forecasting, automate routine tasks, surface actionable insights, and support smarter decisions across sales, service, and operations

Our goal is to bring experience-driven perspectives that resonate with the realities of equipment dealerships, rental houses, and manufacturers—not theory, but what actually works in the field.

We also look forward to supporting AED’s educational mission. By participating in events, contributing content, and sharing best practices that help members think more strategically about digital transformation and long-term competitiveness.

Looking Ahead

Joining AED reflects our long-term commitment to the heavy equipment industry and the people who power it. We’re excited to learn from fellow members, engage in meaningful dialogue, and stay closely connected to the challenges and opportunities facing equipment distributors and manufacturers today.

We’re proud to be part of the AED community and energized about what’s ahead. We look forward to building new relationships, sharing insights, and continuing to support the evolution of the heavy equipment industry.
